Dental veneers are one of the many cosmetic dentistry services we offer at Redwood Family Dentistry. Dental veneers are thin shells of ceramic that bond directly to the front of your teeth. These thin pieces of ceramic look and feel just like natural teeth, but brighter and newer!
Why should I get veneers?
If you find yourself feeling self conscious about the color of your teeth or small chips in your teeth for an extended period of time, you may want to consider dental veneers as a treatment option. Veneers do not compromise the strength of your teeth, and can even be more stain resistant than your natural teeth! We apply custom made veneers with expert precision right here in our office for your ease and convenience.
What is the procedure like?
It typically takes two appointments for us to complete your full set of veneers. Each veneer is applied to each individual tooth to guarantee precision and accuracy.
During the first appointment, we will take impressions of your teeth and place temporary veneers on them. Your permanent veneers will then be expertly created in a dental lab. During your second appointment, we will place your permanent veneers on your teeth and remove any excess material.
How long do veneers last?
Generally speaking, veneers typically last 10-20 years before they need to be replaced. Their longevity is determined by how well you care for them, your oral hygiene, foods you consume, and other factors. Because veneers can be quite expensive to replace, it is important to talk to your dentist about veneer maintenance and longevity.
