Do I need a mouthguard?
There are many different types of mouthguards to serve many different needs. Some people need mouthguards to protect their teeth from grinding at night, while others need mouthguards to protect their teeth during sports and other athletic activities.
What kind of mouthguard should I get?
We highly recommend a custom mouthguard made by dental professionals for the majority of our patients. In some cases, store-bought mouthguards work just fine, especially for kids who are growing and changing quickly and just need some precautionary protection for their teeth during athletic activities. However, some youth sports leagues actually require that participants wear customized mouth guards made by their dentists, especially if they participant has braces.
